It's a soft 'g' mainly because it makes it just a little harder to pronounce.

I'm totally in agreement that the study of theology is for the purpose of doxology. Also the study of theology should have in it's desire to be conformed into the image of Christ
I like that name too! I wish I thought of it. I highly recomend approaching Scripture doxologically, rather than soteriologically. One is less likely to force unintended meaning into the text that way.
