An Invitation That Came In The Mail Today

FRONT

BACK

Here's what the small print at the top of the back of the postcard says (emphasis mine):

COME CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT EASTER!

Do you remember being dragged to church on Easter? Well, you've changed since then and so has church! Comfortable clothes, music written this century, and messages that are relevant for your daily life...church was never like this! Join us at_______Baptist Church for our special Easter program. But come in on your own two feet...we wouldn't want it to be a drag!

Hmmm...what do you think? Should I go?

No. Go to your own church where you have a tried and true fellowship ... and where they will sing "He Arose."

Up from the tomb He arose,
with a mighty triumph o'er His foes
He arose the victor from the dark domain
and He lives forever with the saints to reign.
He arose!
He arose!
Hallelujah, Christ arose!

I agree with Rose. Go to your own irrelevant church.

Easter was kind of a drag for the man on the cross.

I wouln't it's a Baptist Church!

(Just kidding!)

It sounds too wishy washy for me, and I'm sure it does to you too.

Check this flyer out: "Looking For Easter." I was invited by a friend of mine (who attends this church) to attend this extravaganza. Every year, her church rents the Murphy Center on the MTSU campus in Murfreesboro. ***Notice that "Mary Magdelene" will be there in person, telling the Easter story.

littlegal,
Would that be the 'DaVinci' Easter Story? That's weird!

Everyone else, I agree.

We'll be singing this hymn on Easter and we will be there because of our love for our Saviour Jesus Christ. Easter is not for unbelievers. It's for those who have looked to the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. This of all days is a Christian day. Here's the text of this gorgeous hymn. The hymn tune can be heard at the link below it.

Now let the vault of Heav'n resound
In praise of love that doth abound,
"Christ hath triumphed, alleluia!"
Sing, choirs of angels, loud and clear,
Repeat their song of glory here,
"Christ hath triumphed, Christ hath triumphed!"
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Eternal is the gift He brings,
Wherefore our heart with rapture sings,
"Christ hath triumphed, Jesus liveth!"
Now doth He come and give us life,
Now doth His presence still all strife
Through His triumph; Jesus reigneth!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

O fill us, Lord, with dauntless love;
Set heart and will on things above
That we conquer through Thy triumph,
Grant grace sufficient for life's day
That by our life we ever say,
"Christ hath triumphed, and He liveth!"
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Adoring praises now we bring
And with the heavenly blessed sing,
"Christ hath triumphed, Alleluia!"
Be to the Father, and our Lord,
To Spirit blest, most holy God,
Thine the glory, never ending!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

That's a great hymn, Ingrid. I also like Christ The Lord Is Risen Today and Jesus Shall Reign.

Doxo,

Go to the other church, and when the offering plate comes around, make a withdrawl. Then get out as quick as posible.
