It's That Time Again...

Ask me a question. I have trouble coming up with stuff to blog about. More accurately put, I have trouble remembering all the great ideas for posts that I have while I'm at work. I need to start writing them down.

But until then, help me fill this blog with sound biblical theology by asking questions related thereunto.

Thank you.

Are people in the great trib going to be saved by a mixture of works and grace since that it a different dispensation? Sorry. I couldn't resist.

OK, here is a legit question.

The verses regarding music in the NT... Psalms Hymns & Spiritual songs... is this to be interpreted as commands to the church directly (as regarding their worship service), or are we, as Crhsitians, only to listen to these types of music in our personal life?

For example: I know alot of Christians (from our type of background)that think all secular music is evil and should not be listened to. But they like Marty Robbins. What gives?

D.J., Big Iron is one of the greatest songs ever written (post-baroque, that is).

I don't have a question. I just thought it was important to set the record straight on that.

Big Iron is a definite classic!

I also love:
Mr. Shorty
Ballad of the Alamo (being a texan I have to love that one!)
The Cowboy in the Continental Suit
and of course El Paso ;)

Continental suit, was also very good, though i always felt that "a white sports coat and a pink carnation" was something of a sell out.

And Gene Pitney's rendering of Liberty Valance was also good

Thanks for the material guys.

David,
you're a troublemaker. If I knew how to ban you I still wouldn't do it. I like troublemakers.

Daniel,
Get a haircut.

Bughead (lice?),
I already came out of the closet over at Moorhead's. You want me to explain? Alrighty!!! Thanks.

I'm headed out the door to a New Testament Survey class taught by the venerable Pastor Steve Weaver.
I'll be back around 10 pm. If I'm still awake (I had a late night last night and a hard day at work) maybe I'll get started on your questions, D. J. and Bug.

This does not mean to stop asking questions. I'm going to need something for all next week.

Can a person know for sure that he believes something?

Jeremy Weaver said...

Antonio,
Where have you been? It's been too quiet!
That is a leading question and would probably be thrown out in a court of law.:-)
Short answer, Yes.

a) What responsibility, if any, did Abraham have to keep Lot from associating with those of Sodom and Gomorrah? As Patriarch of his family, or as a believer in the one true God, should he have restrained or cautioned Lot?

b) How is 1 Ti 4:4 related to total depravity?

Jeremy,
I can't be expected to be there everytime you emerge from the closet on this or that issue. Sheesh.

No, the lice are all gone. I'm good until the next crop of eggs hatch.
