Delay!

I didn't get done with the first post on the Law before the Home Run Derby last night, so it will appear sometime tonight.

I would really appreciate your continued comments on this subject.

Peter (Covenantal Baptist) and Bluecollar (New Covenant) have already tipped their hands, but I'm not going to yet. I'll probably just let you guys tell me what I am.

Jeremy,

In my mind discipleship, as we see The Great Commission stresses, and that conformity to Christ that we see in Ephesians 4:13,15 and 2 Cor. 3:18 plus Romans 8:29, are the same thing. God's goal for each Christian is conformity to Christ. As we meditate on those things which He has commanded, both in the Gospels, and the rest of the New Testament, we undergo, through the working of God the Holy Spirit, a transformation into the image of Christ.

As I said yesterday, the Law of Christ can, and should also be, mined from the Old Test. Those godly men serve as great examples of Christian living. Daniel, for example, can serve as a model of no compromise, faithfulness in prayer, responsible in business; David in confession of sin - see psalm 32 and 51; Abraham in faith and obedience. And so on.
