New Features

If you're reading this, you've probably noticed the new template. I like this template a lot better than the other one. I have a lot of room for some different features that I have wanted to try for a while. On your left, you will see different quotes. There are five categories; Scripture, Early Church, Reformation, Puritan, and guys who are still alive. The plan is to update each quote once a week. On Mondays the Scripture quote will be updated, Tuesdays will be the day to update the Early Church quote, etc.
After the quotes there is a search engine for the ESV. After that the rules of the blog and then some other junk. I will probably include a weekly survey question on that sidebar as well.
On the other side I have provided two ways to keep up with my asinine ramblings. You can either subscribe with Bloglines by clicking the Bloglines button, or you can be notified of new posts by email through Bloglet.
And while I was at it, I changed my profile picture to include two of the meanest, nicest, most helpless, strongest, loving, and contrary boys in the world!

Do you find these features helpful, disturbing, distracting, interesting, or what? Are there any other features that would make the blog more accessible?

Thanks!

The tall guy in the picture is kind of disturbing.

Be careful about quoting guys who are still alive. Most of them are idiots.

Your background is white in MSIE, but gray in Firefox.

I still want to know why the blogroll changed from "Bloggers I'd like to meet" to "Bloggers I haven't met." I think there have been a lot of hurt feelings over that.

Um... I guess that's all.

David,

I use Firefox. The background looks white to me.
And I just compared the two browsers. Outside of the way Explorer renders the fonts they both look the same to me.

Absolutely.

You're right, the color was in my browser settings. Thet's strange, though. lots of blogs hjave white backgrounds, and I see them. This computer stuff confuses me.

very disturbed. yes,very disturbed...

j/k

I like the quotes. Good idea, and great resource for morons like me that doesn't read too quick and gets stuck on the same book for months!

No Sith Lord! (holds up both index fingers to form a cross)

I like the new profile pic, Jeremy.

How could you say those boys are mean, helpless, and contrary?

The feautures are interesting. The format is very colorless, but that is coming from an artsy type - what would you expect?

Hope you are having a good summer.

D. J.,
You're so modest.

Daniel,
You look like Bilbo when he sees the ring of power.

Rose,
What if I want to be a Sith Lord? What can you do to stop me?

:-)

I love the picture of you and your little men.

Being of the aged variety, I find the new format a bit hard to read, but since you are so profound and prolific, it is well worth the effort.

Ditto Rose on the little guys.

Great stuff Jeremy!

Artsy or not! Sith, Spiderman or whatever...how about a Clark Kent pic?

Rose, You are a great artist and Jeremy is great in the art of projection.

I think this will work for you.

Great kids as well.
